Granite town, compact lots, real lawns
Milford is known for its pink granite, quarried here and used in buildings in Boston and beyond, and the town still has the bones of a working mill and quarry community. Neighborhoods like Prospect Heights, first built as worker housing, and the Plains near Plains Park have compact lots and closely spaced homes. Out toward Louisa Lake, Milford Pond and the edges of town, lots get bigger and newer subdivisions appear.
Compact lots are easy to underestimate. They still need a clean cut every week, sharp edges along the sidewalk and shrubs kept off the house. Because the homes are close together, a crew that blows clippings into the neighbor yard or leaves debris on the street is noticed right away. We work tight and leave every property clean.
